[this is good] I am fasinated by the Joseph Chapman you write of. I believe I am a relative of his and every few months I search the web to find more about the fellow. I bought property next to the historic Dana Adobe in Nipomo. They are having their historic day soon. http://danaadobe.org/


I have been studying Joseph Chapman for the last decade or so. Your article is very interesting. I have been long interested in California history and only recently discovered I am related to Jose Chapman. It's a long story about hiding hispanic heritage after the Americans arrived.

Twenty yrs ago I bought 2.5 acre farm next to the historic Dana Adobe. Very interesting place. they are having their history day  in June 2010.
