Well, it's back to bein' a zombie and I ain't exactly fond of the critters, as you know. Nonetheless, I seem to keep getting infected. This time around, I was the model for my friend, Suzana Rupe the Queen of Gore, at Joe Blasco's makeup school in Hollyweird. Somewhere over at the left there you can see the album of my exciting transformation. Sadly, this program doesn't let me put the pictures in order or write captions so you'll have to just enjoy them on a case-by-case basis. Took about three hours from soup to nuts. Terrific class too - we really had fun.
"Coincidence" sure is a funny thing. For example, in spite of having two hummingbird feeders , more flowering plants than you can shake a stick at, and biblical numbers of hummingbirds in the yard, we ain't ever had a nest.
But sure enough, just as our hummie kids are growin' up and movin' out, Our friends Jason and Rachel got a hummie family of their own. This one on a wind chime about a foot away from their front door. Much the same set up as ours. Kind weird.
Well, they've got another four weeks of wondering whether or not it's ok to use the front door, keepin' an eye on the cats, and debating whether to leave the porch light on or turn it off - it's motion activated. Being a vicarious bird parent can be exhausting. Somehow the birds manage it, though. Rachel thinks there might be a second jellybean in the nest now; it's been just over a week. Won't be long before they hatch out and this party gets started.
Seems like zombies are everywhere these days - even in the mirror this time. As you know from a few posts down, I was in a zombie video for Canadian country-rock singer Tim Hicks a few weeks back. Well, it's all cut together and ready for the public now and it turned out to be a lot of goofy fun.
In other zombie-related news, we watched Warm Bodies the other night, and I gotta say it's one of the better flicks I've seen in a while. It's very loosely based on Romeo and Juliet - Rrrrr and Julie in this case, a zombie boy trying to connect with a human girl in a post-apocalyptic not-too-distant future.
In my own apocalyptic not-too-distant future, I volunteered to be by friend Suzanna's guinea pig for the make-up artist class she'd teaching next week and guess what? The theme is "zombie." Y'all will be seeing more pictures of me undead than alive.
Down there, I'm in the straw hat behind Tim's right shoulder a little left of center.
